About Easy English Lessons

Meet the teachers, learn our story, and discover the philosophy behind every lesson we teach.

Easy English Lessons was founded by Meagan, a qualified English teacher with a background in educare, education, and child psychology, because she saw the same thing happen again and again: motivated learners stuck at intermediate, using apps or attending group classes, never quite reaching the fluency they were working towards. The solution was simple but rare — genuinely personalised, one-to-one lessons with a patient, qualified native teacher. That is still the only thing we do, and the only thing we have ever done.

Where It All Started

Meagan founded Easy English Lessons in South Africa's Western Cape after years of watching learners struggle not from lack of effort but from lack of real speaking practice. Group classes meant 10 minutes of speaking per student per hour. Apps rewarded recognition but never built production. The missing ingredient was always a real conversation — someone who responds, corrects, and adapts in the moment. Easy English Lessons was built to provide exactly that, and nothing else.

Since then, the team has grown to include Natalie and Jamin — both native English speakers with their own distinct teaching styles. Together, the three teachers have worked with students across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa, and the Americas — children from age 5, teens preparing for school exams, adults building workplace confidence, and families learning together.

Our Teaching Philosophy

Four principles that shape every lesson we teach, from a first session with a five-year-old to an advanced class with a senior professional.

Speaking from day one

The biggest mistake in language learning is waiting until you're "ready" to speak. You're never ready — you become ready by speaking. Every lesson at Easy English Lessons involves real conversation from the very first session, even for complete beginners. Mistakes are not only allowed; they are the mechanism.

One-to-one, always

Group classes average 10 minutes of speaking per student per hour. In a one-to-one lesson, you speak for the full session. There are no distractions, no waiting for your turn, and no lesson plans built for someone else. Every minute of every lesson is about you.

Personalised to your goals

Preparing for a job interview? Supporting your child through school? Building confidence for travel? Every lesson is shaped around what actually matters in your life — not a generic curriculum. Our teachers adapt in real time, every session.

Patience and encouragement

Speaking a new language is vulnerable. Our teachers create a space where making mistakes feels safe — because that is where learning actually happens. Every student, from a five-year-old to a senior professional, deserves to feel capable and respected in their lessons.
